Jim Goldenberg is a founder and partner at Cathartes, where he has played a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the company. Jim’s influence over the last three decades has propelled Cathartes as a prominent player in the real estate and sustainable development sectors.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colgate University and an MBA from Columbia University. He is deeply involved in the New England real estate and sustainability scene, and is a member of key industry organizations like the Urban Land Institute, Smart Growth America, the Real Estate Finance Association of New England, and the Clean Energy Council. He’s also been nominated for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year—an impressive recognition of his business contributions.

Outside of the office, Jim demonstrates his passion for making a positive impact both locally and globally. Calling Duxbury, Massachusetts “home”, Jim has been a key member and former Chairman of Duxbury’s Alternative Energy Committee, and has held previous roles as a Trustee at Bay Farm Montessori and a member of the Board of Directors for the Boston area YMCA.  Jim is currently leading an exciting new global initiative to create sustainable economic growth in developing countries through training and connecting remote workers with tech jobs, and is also serving on the Board of Directors for the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation. A lifelong musician, Jim is an accomplished bass player in a professional rock band, and in a harmonious balance between his professional and personal pursuits, Jim and his band mates share their time and talents for community fundraising events.
