James (Jim) A. Shanahan, CPA, is a seasoned financial expert with over 30 years of experience in managing finances for both public and private organizations. Since joining Cathartes as the Director of Tax and Accounting in January 2018, Jim has been instrumental in overseeing all internal accounting and finance activities. His responsibilities include managing the firm’s extensive real estate portfolio, which includes over $270 million in loans, as well as supervising the development pipeline.

Jim received his Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College and a Master of Business from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Hampshire Society of Certified Public Accountants (NHSCPA). 

In addition to his professional commitments, James engages in his local community to share his time and talents.  He has previously served on the Masconomet School Committee and Boxford MA Finance Committee. Jim currently resides in Hampton, New Hamphire.
